Hi Beezer,

When I set up the forum to accept everybody the number of spammers registering that I had to delete several times per day was ridiculous. A few times I took out the anti spam measures and within a few hours I had over a hundred blatant bogus registrations and spam posts to clean up.

One other thing is that I go through registrations that are unconfirmed, and delete them if they have been sitting for more than 24 hours unconfirmed. The reason for this is that I used to let the unconfirmed registrations sit for a week, and then after I deleted them, they would come back and sit unconfirmed for another week. This added up to a backlog of hundreds of unconfirmed registrations. When I manually confirmed them, they posted spam.

Sorry for any problems this might be causing.

My anti spam measures had screwed up both the registration process for some that wanted to join, it also made a mess of the search index. I will have to consult with a computer wiz at some point to see if I can get that fixed. I am now trying a different anti spam system, so it should be easy for all to register.
